Hello ladies!

No Fun and Easy ride Saturday, the woods are still closed due to fire danger.  I know it’s sad to wish for rain, but that is the only way we will get back in!

Jeep and Dave are planning to ride the 211 at Mount Saint Helen’s on Saturday.  Time has yet to be determined.  They say the pace will be slow but in boy speak who really knows what that means…contact Jeep for details seattle0@hotmail.com

I am running in the Harvest Classic 10K on Saturday but after was thinking about putting together an impromptu girls night out…my daughter is spending the night with friends, my hubby is heading to Utah….I’m bored and don’t want a pity party at the house J  Let me know if you’re interested, not really sure even what I want to do but it will most likely involve food, beer and possibly some karaoke…

FIELD TRIP!!!  Carol Hansen will be leading a GGG ride at Gnat Creek just outside of Knappa on 10/13.  Ride time 10am.  The trailhead is about 1 hour from Longview.  I am planning to head up for this one.  I will most likely be hanging around after for some lunch and beers at Fort George in Astoria.  We can meet and caravan or, I can fit a few folks and bikes in my car but will be staying so if you’re not in a hurry to get back then you can ride with me.  Let me know if you’re interested!

Mega-Work Party

Hello ladies~

Welcome to fall! I have no official rides scheduled for now but if you are planning to head out, send a message to the group. If you're interested in setting up/leading a ride, let me know and I will get the word out. It's time to get muddy!

We have lots of upcoming opportunities to "earn your stripes" out Growlers. The annual mega work party is November 13th. Jeep has the full story at the link below.

We will also be recruiting folks to help with the bike park build. If you want to be involved with the planning process for the skills area, please let me know. It would be great to get some female input on the skills that are installed so it's not completely intimidating for us!

Continuing issues at Stella-someone has been putting tacks on the trails. If you ride out there be sure and take an extra tube. Probably also a good idea to go with someone, none of us should be out there alone if there are people willing to do stupid things like that who knows what's next.

Mega-Work Party - Put it on your calendar now: Sunday, November 13 is the annual Mega-Work Party. This is an all-hands-on-deck situation, with a goal of adding 2-3 miles to the system in a single day. Details at http://writeteknorthwest.com/archives/9310/mega-work-party-set-for-november-13th. Sign up by leaving a comment on the post or by email me at this account.

Happy Trails-

Mel Takes on a 40 @ 40 Ride

Hello Everyone-

I’m am planning a 40 @ 40 ride in honor of 2 friend’s fathers that have been recently diagnosed with cancer as well as all those affected by this horrible disease. Some of you have likely already seen the story on Jeep’s website but I wanted to pass it along to keep you in the loop. I will be creating a Facebook page to track my workouts and progress through all of this as I know it is going to be a difficult challenge. I will let you know when it is up and running so you can follow me and send your encouragement.

Thank you all for your support.

Mel's 40th Epic Ride: It's on! Mel had her 40th birthday last month but she will continue to celebrate with an epic ride in September. Start training now. She is dedicating this ride to Warren Martin and Jeff Alexander - the fathers of GGG members Susan Martin and Shawn Alexander - who are battling cancer. Check the ride route and find out how you can get involved at http://writeteknorthwest.com/archives/7454/mel-norris-plans-40th-birthday-epic
